Hello there readers.

So today my run was in memory of Nathan Long. This is a special day for a close friend of ours Ted that conquered his own battle with spinal cancer when he was 21. Ted and Nathan were very close friends. Here are a few words Ted used to explain Nathan:

"Nathan was a great friend from college who lost the battle with brain cancer a few years back. He was a true friend. Someone who could always be counted on to be there in a moment of need. he was an avid golfer who enjoyed the outdoors and was passionate about music. True to form as his friends and family gathered at his funeral the music of Phish was played as his last request."

This particular run was broken into two for scheduling reasons. The first section, I enjoyed a wonderful sunset where the rays were booming up off of the mountains. I also felt like somehow through my physical fatigue I was being lifted along somehow and it was so easy to run. The next section was spent over a full moon. It was so bright it lit up the road for me. I also kept having thoughts of dragonflies which I am not sure what that meaning may be. Personally, dragonflies are very special to me for some reasons but maybe there is more behind it.

Both sections of the 10 miles were very peaceful and harmonious. It was an honor to run for Ted's friend.

Ted, you are such a strong person to this day and it is an honor to see your strength as a survivor and your passion and honor for your friend.

With heart,
Jax
