10-10-10 Road Block :(

Please donate to my fundraiser for the Lance Armstrong Foundation: HERE

... NOT!!!!!

So Just like that we are days away from the big 10-10-10!!

With that I bear good news and bad news. The bad news is that in these past two weeks I have been on a travel schedule that was insane and bound to ware me out and on Sunday (8 DAYS ago) my body decided it had had enough!

For the past 8 days I have gone from a cold to a severe cough to more and more complications. I feel like I have had multiple medications in my body and it is exhausting. I haven't slept more than an hour a night since I was in Vegas on September 23rd. At this point we are still leaving it up to more and more testing after a two hour Doc appointment today but for the purpose of this post I am trying my darnest to at least be able to fly to Chicago and cheer. Big thanks to my husband for being by my side during it all.

It did make me think about about cancer patients and how you never can predict how days are going to go and you have to fight through and roll with the punches.

In my case from a running perspective, not running since September 21st may prevent me from actually running the race but the good news is at least so far the doctors are clearing me to travel to Chicago to be a part of the festivities.

During the lapse from this post to the last one LIVESTRONG DAY also came and went. I unfortunately spent the day sick in bed but did wear some LIVESTRONG gear to celebrate. 28 million people are fighting through cancer at this point. This is a great day to help support that and fight for a day that we have a cure! Below is a little about the day.

10/2 is LIVESTRONG DAY: It is a day of global action that happens annually on Oct. 2nd to commemorate the anniversary of Lance Armstrong's Cancer Diagnosis (14 years ago). It is a celebration of life and possibilities. Today people gather at sites around the world to celebrate survivorship and to commit to working towards a world without cancer.
Radio Shack did a neat promotion via facebook and twitter where they would donate $1 up to $100,000 to LIVESTRONG for every time someone changed their profile picture to the one above.

Lets hope for some progressive improvements in the health department so I can do more than just cheer from the sidelines on Sunday.

Positive thinking!

Cheers!

Jax
