Hey there folks,I have some good news and some bad news...
Good first: I am proud to share that I have begun my journey back to being a competitive triathlete / duathlete. After two years of this and that that ran into my life, I finally am ready to take it on again. See what I can brew up and see how fast I can go. It has been an extremely heartfelt journey to take these two years to go through some of this and that. And now, I am hopping back on the band wagon.
It truly is amazing how much happens in two years just to name a few things:
- We got married!!!
- We unfortunately lost some of our family members to cancer and some of our very closest friends.
- I have been working my tail off at Native Eyewear and it is the best journey ever.
- I drummed it up on the track and raced some 800's and miles
- I ran the most epic marathon ever in Leadville which was nutso
- I ran the Chicago Marathon for a cause with Team Livestrong
- I grew a new passion for vino
- I grew a new passion for The Bar Method and now can't wait to see how it can bring on some speed!
- and on and on...
Not sure about y'all but some name their cars and some in the tri world take it as far as naming their bikes. My sweet Limited Edition Airfiol Pro SL from Kestrel was named "Zoom Zoom."
With only 3 rides on my bike so far plus the Native Photo Shoot (one a year and a half ago, one last weekend, and one up in Breckenridge prior to our Native National Sales meeting), I drove home and accidentally drove into the garage with Zoom Zoom still on top of my car. I keep hearing the sound still of when the frame cracked in half.
Zoom Zoom was still such an infant and just getting her stride. She has ended her life abruptly and has literally cracked in half.
It is just tragic and sad.
My poor baby barely had a life at all.
So now it is on to the spin bike until I figure out the next steps.
Miss you already Zoom Zoom.
Jax
